Additional Information

Dr. Peter Barnett was born at Hartford Hospital and grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut.  He attended Hall High School in West Hartford, Wesleyan University in Middletown, and George Washington University Medical School in Washington D.C.

Surgical Internship at Yale University, Orthopedic Residency at University of Connecticut, Orthopedic Traumatology Fellowship at Parkland Hospital at the University of Texas in Dallas, and Orthopedic Knee Fellowship at the University of San Diego.

Dr. Barnett's interest in treating orthopedic shoulder and knee conditions stems from his life long interest and participation in a wide variety of sports at the high school and collegiate levels. These interests continued beyond college to the present day resulting in a multitude of personal orthopedic ailments leading to his professional interest in understanding and treating these conditions.

Dr. Barnett has made and continues to make every effort to maintain his knowledge base in the study of orthopedic medicine to ensure he provides his patients with the most current, comprehensive and appropriate care.

Dr. Barnett was instrumental in the merging of the two orthopedic practices working at Hartford Hospital in the mid 1980's leading to the modern day Orthopedic Associates of Hartford.  He currently provides appointments for his patients at Orthopedic Associates offices in Glastonbury and Rocky Hill.

Dr. Barnett resides in South Glastonbury with his wife, son and their two golden retrievers.

Medical History
To ensure that you have the safest and most effective medical care possible, it is important that you provide a complete medical history to your physician. If you agree, prior to your visit, we will send you a link via email that will allow you to complete your medical history at any time, at your convenience. Your encrypted medical history will then be transmitted to your physician electronically. If you complete your history prior to your scheduled visit, then we would ask that you arrive just 5-10 minutes early so that our staff can complete and verify your registration information. If you would prefer to complete your medical history in our offices prior to your scheduled visit, then plan on arriving 20-30 minutes before your scheduled visit to complete the medical history and registration process. We strive to be on time and to provide effective care to our patients. Having all of your “paperwork” out of the way before you scheduled appointment helps make that a reality.
