Orthopedic Associates of Hartford Welcomes Dr. Patrick Garvin as Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery Specialist

HARTFORD, Conn., September 15, 2025 – Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (OAH), one of Connecticut’s largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups, is pleased to welcome Patrick Garvin, D.O., an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee, to its team of expert physicians providing comprehensive orthopedic care.
Dr. Garvin brings extensive experience in both operative and non-operative treatments for shoulder, hip, and knee conditions, including ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage repair, osteotomy, rotator cuff repair, labral repair, shoulder stabilization, shoulder replacement, and hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement and labral tears.

Born and raised in Northern California, Dr. Garvin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. He received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut and a Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado, gaining specialized expertise in both arthroscopic and open shoulder, hip, and knee procedures.
Dr. Garvin has extensive experience caring for athletes at all levels and has served as assistant team physician for the NBA Denver Nuggets, NHL Colorado Avalanche, MLS Colorado Rapids, NLL Colorado Mammoth, and University of Colorado Division I Athletics. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and serves as a reviewer for the journal Arthroscopy. Dr. Garvin is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
