Barrett B. Torre, MD

Biography

Dr. Barrett Bruno Torre is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction with a focus on hip and knee replacement. A native of Buffalo, New York, he earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University before completing a postbaccalaureate premedical program at Columbia University. He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.

He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut. He then pursued a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (Dartmouth Health), where he received advanced training in primary and complex hip and knee replacement.

Dr. Torre specializes in anterior and posterior hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, robotic-assisted and minimally invasive joint replacement, and complex revision hip and knee replacement. He believes every patient deserves a treatment plan tailored to their unique anatomy, lifestyle and goals. Working closely with each patient, he emphasizes clear communication and evidence-based care to restore mobility, relieve pain and help patients return to the activities they enjoy.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Torre has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on hip and knee arthroplasty, implant biomechanics and surgical outcomes. His research has been presented nationally, including at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Annual Meeting, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field through research and innovation.

Dr. Torre is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Connecticut Orthopedic Society. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, golfing, skiing and traveling with his wife.
