Biography
Dr. Stephen Davis was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami in Florida, and received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
After completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, he continued his training with a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at the Texas Trauma Institute of the University of Texas at Houston, the nation’s busiest trauma center.
Dr. Davis joined Orthopedic Associates of Hartford in September of 2013. His clinical interests include the treatment of fractures, multiply injured patients, elderly trauma, pelvic fractures, and fracture nonunions and malunions. He also has special interests in shoulder injuries and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Davis is very active in the medical community of the Hartford area. He is the Physician Director of the Fragility Fracture Program at the Bone and Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital, which aims to improve the care and outcomes of elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures. Additionally, he is a teaching faculty member of the University of Connecticut orthopedic residency program and is highly involved in resident education.
Stephen is a proud member of multiple professional and academic societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the AO Trauma organization for trauma research and education, and the Connecticut Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Davis is Board Certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Stephen lives in Farmington with his wife Jessica, their two dogs Dixie Lou and Mavis, and their two cats Kitty and Pickles. They love to hike, ski, fish, snowmobile, and travel. Stephen and Jessica are avid supporters of animal rescue, and actively support Our Companions animal rescue in Manchester, CT.
