Dr. Gordon Zimmermann was born in Washington, D.C.  He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University School of Medicine.  He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic.  Dr. Zimmermann was among the first surgeons to perform arthroscopic surgery in the state of Connecticut.  He has been practicing orthopedics in Hartford for over 35 years, and has performed over ten thousand knee and shoulder arthroscopic procedures and over seven thousand knee replacements.  He has been the president of Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (OAH) since 2001.
